History of My Hobby
The homing pigeon is one of the most facinating hobbies for young or old. And is still is a reliable means
of communications, when modern technology is not available. The homing pigeon has served mankind, as a means of communication,as
far back as 1000 B.C. It is believed they were used by king Solomon. There are also indications that they were used as far
back as 3000 to 5000 B.C. There is documentation that pigeon racing was practiced in Palestine 200 to 220 A. D.
The homing pigeon was the catalyst for the creation of the worlds most prestigious news services, "The Reuters News Service.

My Background
I have been raising pigeons since the age of 7. I started out with barn pigeons,then went to the fancy
breeds. I have had rollers, fantails, nuns,and many other type of fancy breeds. I started racing pigeons in the late 60s.
The racing pigeon sport is a very fun family hobby. My children really loved the birds as they were gowing up. Once you have
gotten the bug, you never look back.
